Welcome to A.NEW Foot Zone Academy! We look forward to working with you at this time. This document contains information about the Academy, the courses, our expectations of you, your responsibilities, and other terms and conditions associated with the Academy (“Agreement”).
In this Agreement, “you”, “your”, or “Student” references the individual signing this Agreement, while “we”, “us, “our”, or “the Academy” references the A.NEW Foot Zone Academy and/or Maleah Gordon.
1. The Academy
The Academy provides an online forum to learn about foot zoning. We absolutely LOVE foot zoning and believe strongly in its benefits. We hope that you can enjoy and benefit from foot zoning as much as we do. To accomplish this, we strive to make classes and instruction time informative, respectful, upbeat, and encouraging. We will work to provide you with honest feedback about how you are doing, but we try to maintain a positive environment in all we do.
Currently, all classes are conducted online. Foot zoning, of course, requires in person practice.
This means a few things:
a) You are expected to have individuals that you can practice foot zoning with. They can be friends, family, neighbors, or the like. If other Academy participants reside in your area you can connect with them as well, but we cannot guaranty that there will be any one in your area during your time with the Academy as we have people from around the country in the Academy.
b) To fully learn, you will need to be able to have a reliable internet connection and a web cam and microphone. We do ask that each Student participate fully by joining the classes with their video on and microphones muted, but ready to participate as necessary.
c) To be able to obtain a certification, you need to be watched while foot zoning, which means that you will be on camera (such as through an online meeting app) or you can be in person if you are in the area or able to travel. You will also be on camera in class and during other Academy meetings. We will usually record the online sessions we conduct, and you can request a copy of your recording as it can build a good way for you to share with others about what you do, but please remember to always get written consent from those you work with first. We ask for your approval and license on the video and other electronic footage further below. You will also need to take the practicum test
at the end where you will foot zone another student while your instructor watches and asks you questions. If any of these conditions do not work for your situation, it may be best for you to seek instruction at another location.
2. Student Expectations/Code of Ethics
We believe strongly in your ability to be amazing at foot zoning! From experience though, we do know that it can be difficult to run a practice and remember everything that you should do. Due to that, we provide some best practice standards and ethics that we expect everyone we certify to follow and abide by. If you do not follow these standards and ethics, we reserve the right to revoke your certification from us and notify any other necessary parties about the license revocation.
We expect all of our Students and certified practitioners to abide by the following “Code of Ethics”. Upon purchase, you agree to:
Before the Foot Zone:
1) I agree to prepare my space by properly cleaning and sanitizing the environment. This includes, clean towels, sanitized stones, sterilized zoning tools, clean oils and salves, clean objects my clients and I will be sitting on, an orderly environment, and no known sickness/ illness/ disease in the vicinity.
2) I understand I do not have to use a foot bath. If I choose to do so I agree to sterilize it appropriately before the client arrives and after they leave.
3) I agree to cleanse the space energetically through my own methods. This can be in the form of meditation, saging, incense, prayer, energy, stones, etc.
4) I agree to prepare myself physically, ensuring I am properly nutritioned and hydrated.
5) I acknowledge my hands are my tools and agree to keep my hands cared for. I will only work on clients if my hands are free from disease. I also agree to keep my fingernails at a proper length to ensure they do not create discomfort during the foot zone.
6) I agree to prepare myself mentally by creating space and healing for my client.
7) I agree to prepare myself emotionally by releasing any low frequency emotions and balancing myself in order to be a pure vessel for my client.
8) I agree to prepare myself spiritually through my own rituals and practices.
9) I agree to prepare my auric body by exuding love and hope for my clients.
10) I will ensure the client arrives fully clothed and understands that removal of clothing, other than the socks and shoes, is unnecessary and is not part of the foot zone.
11) I agree to have a safe and clean entry for my client. This includes the outside of my property as well as the inside.
12) I agree to be aware of any physical contraindications and use proper techniques and caution. I will provide my client with opportunities to disclose any physical or other concerns and will provide them with informed consent that I am not diagnosing, treating,
or curing any disease.
During the Foot Zone:
1) I agree to use clean and sanitized items.
2) I agree to keep my salve, oil, or other product clean and to not re-apply with hands after touching the feet.
3) I agree that my client will remain fully clothed and only remove socks and shoes.
4) I will never diagnose, prescribe, or advise against current medical treatment in ANY form.
5) I understand that I am not a medical professional and should not be giving medical advice.
6) Again, I agree to NEVER diagnose or prescribe unless I am properly licensed and trained to do so. All recommendations should be filled with personal experience and “examples.”
7) I will be cautious with my hands and any tools I use to ensure that I do not puncture or break the skin.
8) I will use the foot zone modality only as it was intended and taught to me; this includes the lowest part of the legs (underneath the calf muscle), ankles, and the foot in its entirety.
9) I agree to complete the zone in the correct order, including all of the signals that were taught to me. I will never spot treat my clients.
10) I agree to treat each client with respect and love. I also agree to keep the relationship professional and separate any personal feelings and work.
11) I agree to dress appropriately and to create a comfortable environment for both me and my client.
After the Foot Zone:
1) I will keep any and all information disclosed to me during the foot zone confidential. *Unless it is a life-threatening or safety risk or area of mandatory reporting in which case I will alert appropriate family or authorities.
2) I will not share clients’ healing experiences without their permission.
3) I agree to speak highly and respectfully of all clients.
4) I will cleanse my hands thoroughly for at least 2 minutes.
5) I agree to properly clean and sanitize all the items that were used.
6) I agree that if I choose to make any documentation after the foot zone I will keep it locked and private.
General
1) I agree to learn about and abide by the foot zone laws in any state I do business in.
2) I agree to abide by regulations set forth by each state I do business in and obtain any license or membership required to foot zone in that state.
3) I agree to respect and uphold the foot zone modality.
4) I agree to respect other foot zone practitioners.
5) I agree to respect other foot zone training programs.
6) I agree to do my best to help foot zoning gain an increased level of awareness and credibility in the public’s eye.
3. Respect for Our Content
We have worked very hard to create an online forum that can effectively teach foot zoning to you and others. We ask that you agree to fully respect this work and not take or utilize it outside of the scope of what we authorize in writing.
Our License to You
In consideration of paying the fee for the course, we authorize and grant you a limited, revocable license to use the notes, materials, images, diagrams, recordings, foot zone maps, curriculum, and other documents that we provide you with (“Materials”) for your own training and education. You may also utilize all of the Materials that remain in your possession after the course ends to continue your practice of foot zoning, provided that you do not use the Materials to teach others. You are also not permitted to give any copies (whether electronic, physical, via picture or image, etc.) of the Materials to others.
Your Agreement to Us
You agree that you understand that Materials are owned and provided only by A.NEW Foot Zone Academy. You do not own any of the Materials and agree that you will not share, copy, or distribute the Materials in any form. You understand that sharing of the Material is unethical and illegal under copyright law(s) and you may be subject to fines and legal fees. You will also lose your certification if you violate these provisions. If you wish to teach the Material to others, you agree to go through the proper steps set forth by A.NEW Foot Zone Academy to become a recognized instructor. Of course, you may choose to teach others about foot zoning (as the world always
needs more foot zoners!). If you do, and you do not teach as an A.NEW Foot Zone Academy instructor, you acknowledge and agree that you are responsible to create all original curriculum and training materials. This includes maps, images, diagrams, documents, pdf’s, training topics, recordings, and any other material you need to teach. You fully agree to not utilize, copy, or share any Material specifically created by
A.NEW Foot Zone Academy.
You also agree that if you create any original training material that it will not represent that of A.NEW Foot Zone Academy in any way and that you will not represent or attempt to convince others that the material you create is connected to us.
4. Best Practices
We ask that you follow certain practices and procedures that will help you benefit the most from our instruction. We may provide additional practices, pointers, and tips in classes, but some of the basic ones are:

5. Maintaining Appropriate Culture
We require that all of our students and participants contribute to maintaining an appropriate culture in our Academy, classes, and interactions with others. If you are certified by us, you need to treat others with respect and civility. We do not tolerate racism, sexual harassment, bullying, criminal activity, serious disrespect to others, extortion, using foot zoning to manipulate or gain advantage of others, fraud, or other crimes of moral turpitude.
If you are involved with any of the above activities we can terminate your ability to attend courses live, interact with other students, attend graduation, or continue to remain certified through us, depending on the severity of the situation and incident. We fully reserve the right to take corrective action based on your conduct.
While we will strive to provide you with a warning or two and an opportunity to apologize and correct any bad behavior, we reserve the right to take action without warning if any conduct is severe enough, in our sole discretion, to necessitate such action without warning.
Every person we work with, including you, should have a good environment and culture to learn within, which means that you need to be part of helping to make that culture possible.
6. Payment and Refund Policy
We love what we do and want you to love it too! We offer a 30-day “Tried and Tested” Guaranty. Our Tried and Tested Guaranty means that we will fully refund your payment if you participate in every class, complete and submit every assignment, and do all course research, videos, logs, and review all applicable curriculum during the thirty day period that begins on the first day of class and you determine that you are not satisfied with the course or the instruction.
To receive the refund, you must show record of your participation in all classes, videos, activities, assignments, etc., cancel between the 25th – 30th day from the 1st day of class, and you must return any welcome materials that we shipped to you (including the silicon feet and foot zoning tool). We will then process your refund in accordance with the terms and conditions of the payment processor (for some payment processors, they do not refund the processing fee).
Our course fee and particular offerings are set forth in the course or program you enrolled or will enroll in. Full payment is necessary to have access to trainings, courses, and Materials. If you are paying over time, you need to timely make payments. Any missed payments may result in your suspension from the course. If you are suspended for too long, you may need to reapply and take the course again.
Outside of the Tried and Tested Guaranty, we do not offer refunds of the fees paid unless we fully fail to deliver any of the promised Material and courses. If we cancel a course or program, we will provide you with a refund, provided that if your payment was by credit or debit card, the payment processor may not refund their portion of the payment processing fee. That portion of the payment is governed by their terms of use,
not ours.
If there are things that are not meeting your expectation about the course or the Materials, please be sure to let us know and discuss your concerns with us. We are happy to discuss any concerns and issues with you, and we will do our best to help address those. However, refunding fees paid is not part of the solution usually, as you signing up for each course or program obligates us to expend funds to provide the course and Materials to you.
7. Confidential Information
You agree to not share your client’s or other student’s stories, experiences, or private information without their consent. You acknowledge that foot zoning requires deep trust where you will learn many things about individuals. You will have insights into some issues or concerns they may have based on energy present during the foot zone, and you must act as a true professional and treat this information with respect and dignity. If you openly share information, people will be able to know that, and it will impact your work and ability. Thus, it is best to start practicing now by keeping the stories and experiences of others confidential and not sharing them without their permission.
8. Meaning of Our Certification
Our certification is provided so that you can let others know that you achieved certification through A.NEW Foot Zone Academy. This helps exhibit a level of competency and knowledge in the area of foot zoning. However, our certification is not a license to practice in your particular state. Every state has their own requirements for what may or may not be required to legally foot zone in your state. In other words, every state may have additional requirements beyond our certification, and you agree to understand and follow those requirements. You agree that you have personally decided that our program(s) and course(s) you register for will meet your needs and that you are not relying on any representations, guarantees, or warranties from us that our certification will work for any particular state or license type.
Our certification is recognized though by the Utah Foot Zone Association (“UFZA”) and you can receive a UFZA licensing number to aid you in securing your own license in your state. UFZA operates at the national level and works with individuals throughout the United States.
9. Your Practice After the Academy
We will strive to provide you with some information that will help you in your work after you finish with us. We will provide a template for good practices for obtaining informed consent, asking for client permissions and disclosure, and otherwise running a practice.
However, these forms may need to be adjusted to your work and your state, and you will need to ensure that you are tailoring your practice and your work to what is best for you and required in your state as well as obtaining any other documents or items you need. We can discuss some state specific information with you, but you agree not to rely on our knowledge as complete or tailored to your situation. We are not attorneys and do not provide any legal advice, so any discussion of laws or licensing requirements are general in nature and not applicable to your situation.
10. License, Release and Hold Harmless
In consideration of joining the Academy and being a part of our work, you consent to classes and other electronic interactions being recorded. You acknowledge that your likeness, discussions, appearance in class, statements, etc. will be recorded, and you consent and agree to the Academy using these recordings for its purposes. Specifically, you grant the Academy a worldwide, irrevocable, royalty-free, non-exclusive license and right in your likeness, image, content, and other of your information present in 1) any electronic recording that it makes or that you make and submit to the Academy, 2) any images of classes, events, meetings, assignments, or the like that the Academy takes or that you submit to the Academy, and 3) any other information associated with the Academy in any way (“License”). The Academy is authorized to use
the License for any purpose it deems appropriate, including without limitation its business, marketing, and educational purposes.
In joining the Academy, you acknowledge and agree that you are undertaking the courses solely for your own educational pursuit and betterment. You acknowledge and agree that the Academy is a beginning point, but that your work, practice, efforts, and experience over time will contribute more to your continued education and betterment. You agree to release and hold the Academy harmless from any claims, liabilities, causes of action, demands, or other legal items raised or asserted by any of your clients or individuals you foot zone, especially during your training time, or by any government regulators or third parties on their behalf. You also agree to release and hold the Academy harmless from any legal claims or causes of action you may have against the Academy related to negligence. It is impossible for the Academy to teach or cover every possible scenario. Since the Academy is online, you agree that its duty to you is contractual, not based in tort law, and that this Agreement outlines all of the Academy’s obligations, which are to provide the courses or Materials agreed to with each course or program offering. If the Academy does not perform any of these items, you agree to limit your sole recourse to contract law related to these contractual obligations, and you agree that you are not entitled to any damages beyond the price you paid for the applicable course or program that caused the issue(s). You expressly waive any rights to recover actual damages beyond the associated payment, and you waive the right to recover incidental, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages from the Academy.
11. Disclaimers
The Academy is not itself licensed or accredited. Foot zoning is still a developing practice, and industry licenses and accreditations are still developing. States and laws are consistently changing as well, and it is possible that your state laws currently require, or may require in the future, training or education in addition to what we provide. Foot zoning has different schools of thought or modalities that are used. Some foot zoners feel very strongly that their modality is best and that others are wrong or bad. You may encounter strong opinions on the matter. We do not train in all modalities or possible ways of foot zoning, but we do not disparage other modalities. We strive for positivity and to help build the industry.
Starting a practice is not always easy, and we do not provide all education or resources for you to fully run a successful foot zoning practice. Such often takes experience or knowledge in a variety of business areas, including managing client relations/sales, marketing, web design, legal, accounting, etc.
You understand that this training may meet the state licensing requirements in many states, but may or may not accommodate all states. It is your responsibility to ensure that this training is sufficient for your purposes. Some states require that you register with an association recognized by the state in order to be a foot zoner in that state. Each association usually has their own rules and fees. You agree that you have researched the applicable association(s) in your state(s) and that you are comfortable with their requirements.
At the time of creating this document, there are no national foot zone associations, but associations such as UFZA do strive to operate across the nation by providing assistance and support to individual foot zoners with the work they do. While our certification is recognized by UFZA and you can obtain a UFZA licensing number, this number does not automatically certify or license you to legally foot zone in all states or
areas.
12. Legal Miscellaneous
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to any conflict of law principles. If any provisions of this Agreement are unenforceable or not allowed in a state, such provisions may be severed from this Agreement and the remainder of the Agreement still enforced. This Agreement contains the entire agreement of the parties related to the course or program you purchased, and there are no oral or other representations, agreements, or the like that are not contained in this Agreement, and this Agreement supersedes and replaces any other discussions or agreements between the parties related to the course or program you purchased, but it does not replace or supersede other written agreements between the parties related to previous courses or offerings unless such are expressly referenced herein.
In the event of a legal or other dispute, we strive to maintain good energy and we want to discuss those with you. Accordingly, you agree that if there is a legal or other concern, that you will first attempt to discuss it directly with us. If that does not resolve your concern, you agree to then mediate such dispute with us before submitting any claims to court.
If mediation is unsuccessful, you agree to only submit a claim in a court in a county in which the Academy then is headquartered. Each party in any legal proceedings will bear their own attorney fees and costs.
Of course, disputes and legal items are incredibly rare and we do not anticipate any issues, especially because we strive to be open and work through any items that may arise. We are very much looking forward to working with you at this time! By signing below, I affirm that I have read and agreed to the above and that: I agree to participate fully in this training and complete all the prerequisites for graduation, to the best of my ability. I am learning this modality to help others, and to be an instrument of healing. I do not promise miraculous healing in any form, but allow others to see the physical, mental, and emotional benefits for themselves.
As a student of A.NEW Foot Zone Academy, I choose to represent them in a professional, happy, and ethical manner. I also agree that I am solely responsible for my behavior and that I do not hold A.NEW Foot Zone Academy liable for any of my actions, be it good or bad. I am responsible for my conduct and journey, and I agree to continue my journey with faith and optimism.
